We’re always on the lookout for new, innovative ways that will change the game for the print design industry. But sometimes, the thing that catches our attention is the one that has already been around for some time. We’re talking about the beauty of printing with spot Gloss UV.
Spot UV or varnish happens to be one of the most popular techniques to increase the apeal of printing. Originally its purpose is to protect and cover the paper and ink, but because of its futuristic and glossy, sleek finish it is mainly applied to enhance the design and make it stand out.
Basically spot UV is a high-gloss liquid coating applied as a finish, after the print has been produced. It is a post-printing operation that can be done either online or after a while as the ink dries using a separate machine. You can consider using this finish depending on your design, the thickness of the paper (paper weight) you are using, and the details that you want to “highlight” in it. The UV part comes from the fact that this technique uses ultraviolet light to cure the glossy coating. The whole process can be actually quite simple to produce and also environmentally friendly, as the liquid coating does not contain solvents or give out volatile organic compounds after curing.
We love how spot UV can make even the dullest of designs look classy and sleek. For designs that are focused on typography or are trying to give a minimalistic feel, spot UV is perfect because of its accentuating effect. The partially coated element of the design catches light, giving it a strong contrast against the muted (matte) background. Hello, I called customer service a few days ago with questions regarding the wedding cards I was attempting to order. A customer service representative by the name of Samara, not only navigated me through the site but informed me how to change colors, fonts, where to find offers, how and where to request the quick shipping (fasting shipping) and information on how to ask the designer for minor changes. She was extremely efficient, professional, knowledgeable, competent and friendly. Like I stated to her, I am extremely stress prone so to have such a pleasant experience and smoother process with ordering my wedding invites, that call truly made my week! I will be referring any and all contacts to order from this company, as she was just so helpful and resolved all my issues.

You can actually save your design to complete it later, and their tools allow you to exactly position where the design is located on the product that you create. Adding text is easy, you can use multiple designs, choose if you want to use single or double sided, etc, etc.
Product quality was satisfying, and customer service was helpful.

Poor shipping! Poor Customer Service! Poor me for ordering from here!! Delay in receiving order. Customer rep lied and said the order was lost while laughing. Spoke with supervisor who stated the order would be delivered next week. I will not spend any more of my money here and recommend you find another place to order from. Check out reviews from print company reviews. Cafe Press was not rated highly.

I don't know how their stores are as I always order online but I never ever been disappointed by these guys. I placed around 7 orders in the last couple of years and except an order where I accidentally ordered the wrong color, everything was top notch. My favorite product is the baby blanket I ordered for my daughter; it was pink with fairies and personalized with her name. She outgrown it today but I can't part with it, it's gorgeous.
TIP: I strongly recommend searching for coupons before ordering as you could end up saving a lot of bucks.

This is the last time i used Snapfish! Their customer service is worthless. Their employees barely speak decent English!
I had so much time invested in creating a nice looking photo book: the order turned out a lot more expensive then intially stated, the customer service sucks. I will never use them again, nor recommend anyone to use them.
